Spirit Mother departs the trail and sets down roots in the vast, lonesome expanse of Eastern Oregon’s high desert outback with their third studio album, Thistle - out on Sound of Liberation Records September 4th.
Written, self recorded and produced in the creaking, wooden attic of Armand and SJ’s century old cabin home, the music is a direct and genuine representation of their life and surroundings over the last year. Hear the preindustrial timber floor and walls of the studio breathe life into each song.
Feel the blistering desert sun rise and fall across the obsidian encrusted sage brush prairie. Alongside the rattlesnakes, coyotes, wild horses, and free roaming cattle, where their last album Trails hints at future sonic leanings, Thistle brings to fruition the bands fully realized sound.
Spirit Mother’s signature dynamic, yet relentless drive, fuzz and grunge leaning take on rock n’ roll is engulfed in the ghost town, americana melancholy that is Armand and SJ’s home.
